bug with scatter ball: my scatter ball summons 3 balls, but when he touth brick he deals 2 damage instead amout of summoning per once balls

Mute doesn't silence all sounds

Thanks for reporting this issue. It was fixed in the meantime.

Big update idea I have, the ability to combine balls:

Imagine you pick sniper and bomb ball and now you have a bomb that always moves towards the closest box. Or you pick the money and scatter ball and now you have small pegs that also give you money.

And for some reason I think that if you had the ability to mix the simple ball with anything else the only thing you get would be slightly more damage and slightly cheaper upgrades, that may need some more thinking.

But other than that, what do you think?

Hi. Thanks for your suggestions. :) It sounds fun, but really hard to balance.

This isn’t planned for now.

My bombs started escaping the screen. Can you make it teleport them back when that happens?

Thanks for reporting this issue. It never happened to me, but others mentioned it in the other comments too. Instead of teleporting them back, I will try to prevent them escape the screen in the first place.

Preventing them from escaping in the first place is good, but it's better to make sure escape is 100% impossible by teleporting them back if it does happen. Especially given that this game doesn't seem to save or have any other way of getting them back once they escape.

I think it is from the shaking from the bomb explosions

Looks like a lot of effort went into this and I hate to be that guy, but some of the mechanics and style choices are too similar to Idle Breakout to be a coincidence.

It's allowed to innovate on old ideas

I opened this game knowing it was going to be like Idle Breakout. However, I'm not mad because that game had aged a little. I want to see something in better graphics.

Good catch! 😉 tbh. I got heavily inspired by it. I loved this game, but I wanted to add my own changes and flavor to it. The version you played here is just the beginning.

The download version doesn't have a proper exit, or I couldn't find it.

altf4

That's why I said proper, because altf4 is always available, but always improvable, I was just expecting a close button inside the game.

Good point! 👍 This is indeed missing at the moment. I focussed purely on the WebGL build for the browser for now. I will add a proper menu in one of the next versions.

Aside from the suggestions below, I don't think the money ball should have a damage upgrade. It should be speed or a damage reduction instead.

The purpose of the game is to break blocks and generally the faster you break blocks, the faster you can make money. That money helps you break more blocks faster and the progression continues...

But the purpose of the money ball is to make money and because money is only given when they hit blocks, they work best when there are many blocks they can bounce between. The ideal scenario is having a money ball start in the middle of a clump of blocks right at the start of a level. They can accumulate a significant amount of money this way because they bounce so many times in a very short period of time.

Having higher damage reduces the effectiveness of this strategy because they'll break free faster. So as a player I have no incentive to purchase the damage upgrade because it nerfs how much money I'm making.

I would even prefer to pay for an upgrade that causes them to ADD hits to a block rather than remove them.

Thanks for your detailed comment. Very interesting take on it.

Did you notice that the money ball damage also gives you money? You’ll receive the “damage money” + extra money. Reducing its damage would also mean that you would receive less of that “damage money”.

On the other hand, increasing the box’s health on impact could be an interesting strategy. 🤔 Not sure if it would be that useful. This way the boxes near the money ball would live longer than the rest, resulting in an empty level which would make the other balls less effective. You might receive more money with the money ball, but less money with all the other balls.

I’ll think about it. :)

Good to know! I didn't notice that, but if that's the case then I think the only issue is a lack of explanations in the shop.

I also forgot to mention in the original comment, I really enjoyed the game and played through it to unlock all upgrades twice. It's such a simple idea but still feels so fresh and exciting compared to existing incremental/idle games

Very fun game! Just three suggestions:

- It should work when running in a background tab
- My bombs just go vertically and are basically useless. Maybe change reflection angle somewhat randomly
- The upgrade menu seems to be lacking descriptions? No clue what it's doing.

one of my bombs, that was just going vertically, shot so high that got out of bounds and basically lost it

Thanks for your suggestions! :)

  1. Yep, I totally agree with that.
  2. I experienced the same issue recently and saw it in some of the other comments too. I will work on a fix.
  3. What do you mean by that exactly? The text like “Damage +1”, “Speed +1” isn’t enough for you? I’m planning to add some “tooltip” feature when hovering over things, e.g. the different ball options top-left. Perhaps I will add something for the upgrades, too.

Thanks for the reply!

Regarding 3, there was zero text for me. I looked again and now it's there. Maybe a one-time bug.

As soon as I click any block, all text/numbers just vanish (Firefox)

Good start. Cool effects.

I found a bug:

Some balls get trapped in the corner, which makes them useless.

Also I wish there was a sound volume setting for the UI sounds. Those are very loud.

yeah my bombs in particular i noticed they clip outside of the wall and get lost forever

Thanks for reporting the bug. I’ll work on a fix soon. :)
